These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaners Barnet provides professional cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. By booking or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing a booking.
In these Terms and Conditions, the following words have the meanings set out below:
Company refers to Carpet Cleaners Barnet, the cleaning service provider.
Client refers to the person, firm or company purchasing services from the Company.
Premises means the property or location where the services are to be carried out.
Services means carpet, upholstery, rug, hard floor or related cleaning services, and any other services agreed in writing between the Company and the Client.
Technician means the individual cleaner or team assigned by the Company to carry out the Services.
The Company provides carpet, upholstery and related cleaning services within its operational service area. The exact scope of the Services to be provided will be confirmed at the time of booking, based on the information supplied by the Client. The Company reserves the right to refuse work that falls outside its usual service offering or where the Premises are considered unsafe or unsuitable for the Technician.
3.1 Bookings may be requested by the Client through the Company’s approved booking channels. A booking is not confirmed until the Company has acknowledged the details and provided confirmation.
3.2 When making a booking, the Client must provide accurate information, including the type and size of areas to be cleaned, the condition of the carpets or upholstery, parking and access arrangements, and any relevant issues such as heavy soiling, stains or pet odours.
3.3 The Company may amend the quoted price or service plan if, on arrival, the Technician finds that the information originally provided was inaccurate or incomplete, or the condition or size of the areas differs materially from that described.
3.4 The Client is responsible for ensuring that an authorised adult is present at the Premises at the agreed start time to provide access, give any necessary instructions, and approve completion of the Services.
4.1 Any quote provided by the Company is based on the information supplied by the Client and is valid for a limited period as indicated by the Company at the time of quoting.
4.2 All prices are stated in pounds sterling and may be subject to applicable taxes, which will be clearly indicated where relevant.
4.3 The Company reserves the right to adjust its prices from time to time. Any changes in pricing will not affect confirmed bookings already accepted by the Company, unless the booking is altered by the Client or the information originally provided was inaccurate.
5.1 Payment is due in full upon completion of the Services, unless otherwise agreed in writing prior to the booking. For certain services, the Company may require a deposit or prepayment to secure the booking.
5.2 The Company accepts payment by methods it makes available from time to time. The available payment methods will be confirmed at the time of booking or before the Technician begins work.
5.3 For commercial or account Clients, alternative payment terms may be agreed in writing. If no alternative terms are agreed, payment is due immediately upon completion of the Services.
5.4 If payment is not received when due, the Company reserves the right to charge interest on the overdue amount at the statutory rate, and to recover any reasonable costs incurred in pursuing the debt.
6.1 The Client may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving notice to the Company. The Company will confirm all cancellations and changes where possible.
6.2 If the Client cancels or reschedules with less than 24 hours notice before the scheduled start time, the Company reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee, which may be up to the full quoted price, to cover lost time and administrative costs.
6.3 If the Technician attends the Premises at the agreed time and is unable to gain access, or if the Client is not present to provide access, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation and a fee may be charged.
6.4 The Company may cancel or alter a booking due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to Technician illness, vehicle breakdown, severe weather or safety concerns. In such cases, the Company will seek to offer an alternative appointment. The Company is not liable for any loss incurred by the Client as a result of such cancellation or rescheduling, other than a refund of any prepayments made for the affected booking.
7.1 The Client must ensure that the Premises are safe, accessible and ready for the Services at the agreed start time. This includes arranging suitable parking or access permissions where required.
7.2 The Client must remove fragile items, valuables, small furniture and other personal belongings from areas to be cleaned, or clearly inform the Technician if any items should not be moved. The Company is not responsible for damage to items left in the cleaning area that were not removed or clearly identified by the Client.
7.3 The Client must inform the Company in advance of any known defects, existing damage, or particular risks associated with the carpets, upholstery, flooring or furnishings, including but not limited to loose seams, fraying, unstable underlay, previous colour damage, or use of non-standard or home-made cleaning products.
7.4 The Client is responsible for supervising children, pets and third parties at the Premises while the Technician is carrying out the Services, and must ensure that no one interferes with equipment, cleaning solutions or wet surfaces.
8.1 The Technician will perform the Services with reasonable skill and care and in accordance with generally accepted industry standards for carpet and upholstery cleaning.
8.2 The Company does not guarantee that every stain or mark can be removed. Certain staining, wear, fading, or damage may be permanent. The Technician will use professional judgement to select appropriate cleaning methods and products, but the final result may be limited by the condition and age of the materials being cleaned.
8.3 Drying times may vary depending on type of fabric or carpet, humidity, ventilation and temperature. The Company will provide an estimated drying time, but this is not guaranteed.
8.4 The Client must follow any aftercare instructions provided by the Technician, including guidance on ventilation, use of heating, or delaying replacement of furniture onto cleaned areas.
9.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes the Companys liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9.2 Subject to clause 9.1, the Company will not be liable for any indirect, consequential or economic loss, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill or loss of use, arising out of or in connection with the Services.
9.3 The Companys total liability for any loss or damage arising from or in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort including negligence or otherwise, shall be limited to the total price paid or payable by the Client for the specific booking giving rise to the claim.
9.4 The Company will not be liable for any pre-existing damage, defects, wear or conditions that cannot be remedied by cleaning, including colour loss, shading, pile distortion, shrinkage or separation of backing in carpets or upholstery that are already weakened, poorly installed or previously cleaned with unsuitable chemicals.
9.5 The Client is responsible for ensuring that carpets, upholstery and other materials are suitable for wet or chemical cleaning. The Company will take reasonable care but accepts no liability where manufacturer instructions have been disregarded by the Client or where items are incorrectly labelled.
9.6 The Company is not liable for damage or loss resulting from failure by the Client to follow aftercare advice or to keep children, pets or others away from wet or treated areas.
10.1 If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, the Client must notify the Company as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after completion of the work.
10.2 The Company will investigate any complaint and may request photographic evidence, access to the Premises, or an opportunity to inspect or rectify the issue. The Client must allow the Company reasonable access to review and, if appropriate, remedy any problem.
10.3 Claims made later than 48 hours after completion of the Services may not be accepted, as subsequent use, soiling or treatment of the items may affect the condition and make it impossible to determine the cause of any issue.
11.1 The Company will handle and dispose of any waste generated by the performance of the Services in accordance with applicable waste and environmental regulations in the relevant jurisdiction.
11.2 Standard cleaning does not include removal and disposal of general household waste, furniture, or large quantities of debris. Where additional waste removal is requested or required, this may incur additional charges that will be discussed with the Client in advance where reasonably practicable.
11.3 Any hazardous substances or materials encountered at the Premises that have not been previously disclosed may result in immediate suspension of the Services. The Company reserves the right to leave the Premises and charge a reasonable fee where the presence of such materials presents a risk to health, safety or compliance with waste regulations.
11.4 The Client is responsible for informing the Company of any known contamination, infestation or hazardous materials at the Premises before the Services commence.
12.1 The Company and the Technician will comply with relevant health and safety laws and will take reasonable steps to safeguard the wellbeing of all parties while carrying out the Services.
12.2 The Client must ensure that the Premises provide a safe working environment, including adequate lighting, ventilation and access, and that any obvious hazards are identified to the Technician on arrival.
12.3 The Company reserves the right to withdraw the Technician from the Premises if there is a risk to health, safety or security. In such cases, a fee may be charged to cover time and costs incurred.
13.1 The Company maintains public liability insurance appropriate to the nature of its Services. Details of cover can be provided upon reasonable request.
13.2 The Client is responsible for maintaining any insurance for the Premises and its contents, including any cover for accidental damage that may arise in relation to the Services.
14.1 The Company will collect and use personal data such as names, addresses and service details only as necessary to manage bookings, provide the Services and administer its business.
14.2 Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. The Company will take reasonable steps to keep personal data secure and will not share it with third parties except where required to deliver the Services, comply with the law or enforce these Terms and Conditions.
15.1 The Company may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The latest version will apply to new bookings made after the date of the change.
15.2 The version of the Terms and Conditions in force at the time of the Clients booking will apply to that specific booking, unless a change is required by law or regulatory authority.
16.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
16.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the provision of the Services.
17.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
17.2 No failure or delay by the Company in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall operate as a waiver of that right or remedy.
17.3 These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Client and the Company in relation to the Services and supersede any prior understandings or agreements, whether written or oral.
By proceeding with a booking or using the Services of Carpet Cleaners Barnet, the Client confirms that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
